HDR

Sun Jan 4, 2009, 4:07 PM
I've seen alot of people playing with HDR, with quite a range of different reslults. Some good, some bad. To me the aim of HDR for the sake of artistic photography is to not take the effect too far, almost stopping when you are at the dynamic range of the human eye. Alot of the work I've seen so far is quite flat, with no real contrast, or definition. Two elements which make photography so appealing.

It seems it is quite difficult to make an HDR scene which still will appeal to the viewer, especially with my high contrast high definition style. But, I will play with it a bit and see if I can create a method which combines the best of both worlds.

Hope everyone had a great New Years, and hope 2009 will be an awesome year for everyone!

With photoshop, you can make a selection by colour range, then select inverse, then desaturate :)
